Point one of your agents at your own AI provider (OpenAI, Groq, DeepSeek, a local model — anything OpenAI-compatible, or Anthropic direct). This only ever changes your agents. Leave it alone to use the built-in model.
An API key is like a password that lets your agent talk to an AI provider on your account. You pay the provider directly (usually pennies), and your key is stored encrypted — we can never read it back.
DeepSeek (cheapest) — create an account at platform.deepseek.com, open API Keys, create one, add a few dollars of credit. Then pick a DeepSeek preset above and paste the key.
Anthropic / Claude (US-based) — sign up at console.anthropic.com, open API Keys, create one, add credit. Pick the Claude preset and paste the key.
Anything else — any OpenAI-compatible endpoint works (OpenAI, Groq, Together, even a model running on your own computer). Choose Custom, enter the provider's base URL and model name from their docs, and paste your key. Local endpoints usually need no key at all.
Always hit Test connection before saving — it makes one tiny live call so a typo can't silently break your agent.
Add a second step to log in using an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, etc.). Even if someone learns your password, they can't get in without your phone.
Send sensitive information (API keys, passwords, etc.) as encrypted, self-destructing links.
